Tips for Job Seekers

Follow these steps to prepare for the career fair:

Pre-Fair

  • Be prepared and ready to share.
  • Review booths, representatives, and FAQs on the event details page
  • Research the organizations in attendance
  • Practice your elevator pitch
  • Update your resume
  • Build your attendee profile
  • Log-in with a Zoom account to complete prior to the event and edit as needed OR
  • Complete a basic guest profile after joining the lobby
  • Check technology and Wi-Fi.
  • Explore the platform
  • Join the lobby early and bookmark booth sessions you wish to attend – bookmarked booths will show up in the Agenda tab.

Day-Of

  • Dress appropriately.
  • Find a quiet space and join the lobby early.
  • Join/attend booth sessions on time.
  • If there is more than 1 representative, you may request to speak 1:1 during the booth session.
  • Ask questions and be interview-ready.
  • Connect with and obtain booth representative contact information.
  • Log-in with a Zoom account to utilize the networking feature and more easily connect with other attendees and representatives

Post-Fair

  • Send thank you emails.
  • Apply for opportunities.
  • Complete the event survey to share your experience with us!
